Hello everyone, I'm Ryan Sue, the product manager of HAIQING. We've recently received many inquiries about compressed sofas, so I've compiled some of the most common questions and provided answers. This will help you quickly understand this innovative product category.
- How big is the compressed sofa after compression?
This depends on the original size of the product. Typically, the volume of the sofa in its compressed state is about 15% of its normal size. A standard 40HQ container can hold 298 sets of double-seater compressed sofas.
- How can a compressed sofa return to its original form after compression?
Unlike traditional sofas, compressed sofas do not have a wooden frame. They are made entirely of 50D high-density sponge.
- What does 50D sponge mean? What are the characteristics of this material?
In sponges, "D" refers to density, which is an important standard for measuring the quality of the sponge. 50D means that one cubic meter of the sponge weighs 50 kilograms. The higher the number before the "D," the higher the density of the sponge. Generally, the higher the density of the sponge, the better its hardness, support, and durability. The density of sponges used in ordinary household sofas is typically between 28D and 35D. 50D sponge is considered high-density, with strong resilience and quick rebound. The small pores between the sponge cells give it strong load-bearing capacity, making it suitable for applications requiring good support and durability.
- How comfortable is the compressed sofa?
The comfort level of a compressed sofa is quite high. Contrary to what some might imagine, a compressed sofa is not overly soft or overly enveloping. As mentioned above, 50D sponge has a strong rebound capacity, meaning it provides good support. At the same time, the properties of the sponge allow it to feel soft and quickly conform to the body's contours.
- What kinds of fabrics can be chosen for the sofa surface?
There are many options available for the sofa surface fabric. Some examples include Chenille fabric, Corduroy, and Teddy fleece. You can contact us for custom fabrics(Email:Haiqingfurniture@gmail.com). Once you submit your choice, our sales team will respond with detailed information within two working days.
- Besides the low shipping cost, what other advantages does the compressed sofa have?
The biggest advantage of the compressed sofa is its ease of transport. For example, in narrow corridors, passageways, or high-rise apartments where traditional sofas are difficult to move, compressed sofas can be easily carried. Users can take the compressed sofa directly into an elevator. There's no need for a special truck to deliver the sofa to customers' doors; the trunk of a car can hold a multi-seater compressed sofa. Meanwhile, the smaller storage volume makes it easier for businesses with limited warehouse space to stock up. Essentially, the advantage of the compressed sofa is that it increases the convenience of selling for businesses, with reduced shipping costs being just an external manifestation of this benefit.
- What if I don't like the look of a compressed sofa but still want to reduce shipping costs?
I suggest you take a look at our modular sofas. While retaining the original frame of the sofa, we compress the seat and back cushions. The modular sofa's packing quantity is about three times that of a traditional sofa for the same product size.
